A nationally recognized presenter, author, and humorist, Jack Berckemeyer was named as outstanding educator in his Colorado school just two years after beginning his teaching career! Jack is known for his motivating, practical ideas and insights communicating a message of hope, laughter, and passion for education. He brings his energy, humor, and expertise to conferences and staff development all over the world as he helps teachers and administrators remember why their jobs make a difference.
In addition to being a “crackerjack” teacher, speaker, and staff trainer, Jack was Assistant Executive Director for the National Middle School Association (now AMLE) for 13 years and is the author or co-author of these inspirational, helpful books: Managing the Madness: A Practical Guide to Middle Grades Classrooms; Taming of the Team: How Great Teams Work Together; Deliberate Optimism: Reclaiming the Joy in Education (with Dr. Debbie Silver and Judith Baenen); and H.E.L.P. for Teachers (with Judith Baenen).
Jack is currently the owner and director of the Nuts and Bolts—Ready to Lead, Teach, and Learn Conferences and of the Berckemeyer Consulting Group. He lives in Denver, Colorado and has no pets or plants.
